Fish in Apple and Onion Sauce
Ingredients:
600 g sea fish fillet
1 large onion
1 large green apple
Melted butter
1.5 tsp More Specij 20 Herb and Vegetable Seasoning Mix
Instructions:
- Peel the apple, remove the core, and slice it thinly. Slice the onion into thin half rings.
- In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, melt a generous amount of butter over medium heat. Add the onion and cook without stirring for 3 minutes, allowing it to soften slightly and caramelise.
- Remove the pan from the heat and layer the apple slices on top of the onions. Place the fish fillets on top of the apples.
- In a separate bowl, dissolve the seasoning in 150 ml of boiling water. Pour the seasoned water gently into the saucepan over the fish and apples. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10–12 minutes until the fish is cooked through.
- Serve the fish with apple and onion sauce over rice or mashed potatoes.
